GB National Boxing awards
The awards are an introduction to the exciting sport of amateur boxing and are presented as a game of skill, discipline, respect and self control. The boxing awards have been designed to:
- be fun
- recreational
- available to all ages
- suitable for all abilities
Of the 6 levels of boxing tutor awards available, the first 3 can be delivered by boxing award tutors :
- Preliminary Award
- Standard Award
- Bronze Award
These awards are non-contact and are ideal for introducing young children to the sport of Boxing in a safe, fun and active way without little risk of physical injury. They can be delivered within a school, youth club, church hall, martial arts dojo, basically anywhere where there is room to run around and have loads of fun.
Once these basic skills have been learned then participants are encouraged to join a boxing gym to develop their technique even further and who knows, perhaps take their first tentative steps towards Olympic and Commonwealth competition.
In addition, the GB National Boxing Awards also provides participants to develop educationally, as the ABA National Boxing Awards gain credits towards the ABA of England National Boxing Educational Qualification (ASDAN Certificate of Personnel Effectiveness CoPE level 2 which is equivalent to GCSE Grade B).
ACS Martial Arts / Boxing Tutor
ACS Boxing Tutor sessions are supplied in association with ACS Martial Arts, a Bedfordshire located martial arts business based in Luton who also offer ladies self defence classes, Smart ClubZ games clubs and KEWAP knife awareness training.
Boxing Award drills and games are often used during martial arts and games club warm ups, so even without dedicated boxing award sessions junior ACS students are still learning basic boxing skills.
